Below are some of the questions we are frequently asked. Please do not hesitate to email us with any other queries you may have.

  • What style of music do you play?

    Session cover a wide variety of musical styles including pop covers from the 60's right up to the present day, as well as rock, funk, party classics, and ballads.

  • How long do you play for?

    We perform for two hours, usually split into two sets. Additional playing time can be added on as an optional extra.

  • Do you use backing tracks?

    No, we are a fully-live band. Although we don't regard backing tracks as 'cheating',  we do not want to be bound to the rigidity that comes with playing to click tracks. (They usually sound pretty cheesy too!)

     

    Feeling a double chorus? Want to loop the intro groove? Impromptu crowd sing-a-long? Being fully-live allows us to interact with what is happening in the moment, no two shows are the same!

  • What packages are available?

    In light of feedback from our clients, we now offer one straight-forward package. This is supplemented by a few very high-quality optional extras that include; a live DJ, an acoustic duo and an LED backdrop. Please check out the package section of the website for more information.

  • What happens when the band takes a break?

    If you have booked Session without DJ then the disco music will play before the band begin, during the interval, and after the band’s performance. Session’s library of music is extensive and covers all genres of music.  The live DJ option is also available  to compere your wedding or event and take song requests.  Background music can also be provided by the venue, or via a CD provided by the client in prior to the performance.

  • Do you play many weddings?

    Yes!  Weddings make up the vast majority of our yearly bookings.  As a result, we are very experienced in this field and are happy to offer you advice on any aspect of your evening entertainment.  References from happy couples are always available upon request.

  • How does the band dress for a wedding reception / function?

    The gentlemen in the band wear formal trousers and shirts throughout the evening. Ceri wears formal evening dress throughout.

    Sound and lighting engineers wear smart black attire.

  • Is it possible to view the band before booking?

    We understanding your desire to watch us perform live before booking us to perform on your big day. It is a huge decision after all.

    If it is of any comfort to you, over the last 17 years we have played well over 600 weddings, all with complete satisfaction. Our reputation has led us to become one of the most in-demand wedding cover bands in Wales and the UK.

     

    We will be organising another of our popular Showcase evening’s in the coming months. This is always an excellent opportunity to meet the band, hear us play live and have any questions answered that you may have about your evening entertainment. Showcase evening’s are usually held around the Cardiff area in South Wales.

  • What time will the band arrive prior to a wedding or function?

    The band will arrive at the venue no later than 120 minutes before the performance is due to begin.

     

    This allows time to set up our equipment, carry out a sound check and, of course, speak to you or the event co-ordinator.

  • I'm worried the band will be too loud.

    Rest assured! The sound engineer and band monitor the volume throughout the course of the evening to ensure that it does not constrain the atmosphere. We are happy to reduce the volume if you or your guests are uncomfortable with the level.

     

  • My venue requires a copy of your public liability insurance certificate.

    We have £10,000,000 public liability insurance with Assure.co.uk. Copies of the certificate can be emailed to the venue in PDF format. We also carry a copy with us to all gigs, just in-case.

  • How much do you charge?

    We are competitively priced with our costs varying depending on location, length of performance time and optional extras selected. If you would like a quote, simply contact the band with details of your requirements.

     

    Session are all experienced and professionally-minded musicians who love what we do, and who love making your wedding or function just that little bit more special. By all means shop around and compare prices, but remember that what you really need to compare is how the bands sound, how they perform and how they ensure that your entertainment is one of the high points of your day. You can only do that by coming to see us play and we strongly encourage you to do that. It is no coincidence (and no exaggeration!) that almost all of the people who come to hear and see us play, make a booking there and then.

  • Okay, I'm ready to book... What Next?

    Great! Email us or call Cameron on 078 5062 7070. Once we have confirmed your date we will send you an e-contract to secure the booking.

     

    The contract is a standard performance agreement designed to protect both parties. The contract will contain details on how to pay the 30% deposit required to finalise the booking. We accept cheque, cash, or bank to bank transfer.

     

    Thats it! We recommend going through our song list and letting us know if there are any songs you really want us to play, or, if there are any you really don’t want!

     

    The remaining balance is payable on or before the night, via cash, cheque or secure bank transfer.
